Patio.. Summertime..

OK, these pics are a bit out of order, but so is my mind.. During my time on "vacation" I took it upon myself to start the small task of doing a concrete patio. Mind you, this is all done by hand, I was too stupid to buy the mixer early enough in the process, so by the 40th or so bag mixing, it would have been pointless.. Originally was going to go with a deck, but then decided the patio would be more likely to be easier to maintain. So, after a billion hours in the sun, I have it 90% completed for now. I just went out and bought Italian tiles for the steps, and started to set them tonight. (Hint, no matter how hot and tired you are, 24 + 6 does NOT equal 32).
This is after emily and I mowed, I just bought a new Cub Cadet ZTR 52" lawn mower, and emily enjoys to ride along while I am cutting grass. Sometimes it's a bumpy ride, but she laughs most of the time as we go in circles. you can see the current project of trellis' that has yet to be completed, but should be done as soon as I get the pool opened up. It is so late in the year to be opening the pool, I'm in rush mode.

Just another angle of the patio. As I said, still a work in progress. However we have made use of it, and it has withstood some good storms, so I think it will handle just fine. You can see the bags of concrete that sat out in a rainstorm, that just turned into rock.. Later had those removed, but they made it into the picture anyhow.

I have a few more pics to do and another blog I'd love to do, but will get to tomorrow I am pretty sure, since it's now after midnight and I'm turning into a pumpkin. I'll just give a rundown.. Kenny got a skateboard (yes, scares me too, but he's 12 and has to try it), Bought Kristina her new bike without training wheels, it's a tad bigger than her last one (20 inch vs. 16 inch) so she is loving that, and bought Emmy a bike. She has to get used to the idea, but I think she'll have a great time going down the driveway with Tina and Kenny once she gets used to it. The driveway is about 1/8 of a mile long, so the kids love to ride it back and forth and race on it. Now Emily won't have to just watch!

Ok.. Now it is time for me to allow myself to sleep. I have earned it. Good night all
