Well, now back to living life and moving on. I've had nearly a year of this, you would think I've gotten everything figured out and taken care of.. Well, if you were me and I were you, I would think that you should have shit figured out already, ya freakin lazy bastard.. But knowing me like I know me, I know the enemies within, and I know the battles that I've battled, and some that still wanna battle back at me. So quit laughin at me you condescending prick! Wait.. That's me I'm talkin to again.. Nevermind! To ramble is a sign of being crazy they say, so enough rambling before these voices in my head make me take medication!
We all took a trip to Chicago this weekend. It was nice to be able to last minute plan up a trip. I found everything online to be able to just take a train over then a taxi to the motel in the middle of the city. The bottom picture is of Millenium Park. 26.4 acres in the middle of town, yada yada google it if you wanna know more.. I liked the steel blob lookin thing, and I finally got to see ice skating, as well as a re-icing of the rink! For me, that was something exciting, give me a break, it's MY blog!
The top picture is the view from the hotel room window. Situated 16 stories above the concrete we could see the Hancock building to our northeast and the Sears Tower to our south. The river was right next to us, and it was an amazing view. We ate at Lou Malnatis pizza, it's been on the Food Network and Travel Channel, got there at the best time, before the rush! OMG, what an amazing pizza (pie). 2 slices and some calamari strips was all I could do! The last night there we went down to the lounge on the 15th floor overlooking the city and had a quick drink while watching life happen below us. I had some crap with coffee, liqour, cocoa and whip cream. Peppermint Slope or something. What a waste of good whip cream.. I would have rathered a hot chocolate, but when at a lounge in chicago where it's $15 for a burger, ya wanna try at least something new. I regretted it, and I hope you do to! But to live without taking chances, is not to live.
We packed up and headed out Sunday morning and took the train home to a wonderful 20 degree welcome mat. It was cold, but it was nice to be home again. Although I love to travel, there is nothing better than coming home. I guess that could be said about life and the way I live it. Tis always great to get out and enjoy living (pretending I'm in charge), but in the end, I just wanna go home.
Until next time interneticans...
