Hey peoples.. It's November now! The snow decided to grace us with its presence for a day and a half already, but since has warmed up. In preparation for hunting I have went north and prepared the property, cut down some trees, and dug a good fire pit. Should be good to go on the 14th when we actually head back up there. I camped up there overnight, and it was soooooo relaxin. Couldn't have been much nicer, unless of course I had 4 walls with me!
Did some scouting while I was there, my friend came up for a few hours and we took this 9,000 mile walk through the woods and found some nice areas for deer, as well as seen a few of em.
I just bought me a huntin truck, so I plan on makin some use of it also this year while we're up there. It's a 1980 Ford F-150 with 6" of lift and 38.5" Super Swampers on it. I love that truck. I don't know why, I'm used to being pampered with luxury, hell I owned a Hummer, but this truck just seems to be more "me". I'm going to name her "rough and ready" once I get the paintjob done on her. My buddy is going to help me with that, otherwise it will end up looking like a paint by number picasso or something. I'm not an artist!
Twas funny however, the guy who sold it to me (college kid with too much money and not enough time) had invested way too much in upgrading everything the right way, and then I got a hell of a deal on it. Not too bad I suppose, but to top it off, he forgot a flask in there with "Robert" engraved on it, a gun box, and a holster. Now mind you, it has been a while since I had anything to drink, however the flask was just too funny.
